I dug some old photographs of Westport Plaza out of my files; I do not remember how old they are, but they are certainly from a long time ago, at least pre-2012. I like them as they capture a time in the history of the office and shopping development that no longer exists.
At the time, there was extensive abandonment, and the complex was showing its age. Nowadays, Westport is showing much more life, having snagged a brand new office building for World Wide Technologies, and there are new renovated restaurants.
I suppose I’m not supposed to like this place, but I’ve always enjoyed the 1960s Swiss village look, with the fake Mansard roods hiding flat roofs.
The Swiss Chalet hotel now looks at the new WWT building, but still looks much the same, though updated since then.
