The House on Pleasantview Road, August 2018

Update: The house was destroyed sometime in the first half of 2019. It’s been a while since I’d photographed the house on Pleasantview Road, and I usually approached it from the south, and I was very surprised to see that there had been some dramatic changes. Princeton, Illinois

The weather was weird in Princeton when we came through, but it is a really beautiful town, with a long history going back before the Civil War. It has two “downtowns,” one down by the county courthouse, and the other up by the rail depot. Another commercial strip has developed near Interstate 80. I believe…

Occasionally, driving a lonely back road, we come across a cemetery without a name, and we stop and photograph it anyway. This cemetery, with a big looping circle drive around it, caught our attention south of Washburn, Illinois.

Henry Bridge, Illinois
