After showing a visitor St. Augustine’s, he asked what was wrong with St. Louisans to allow this to happen. I told him I wished I knew. The copper theft and other despoliation continues. The plywood is replaced, is kicked in again, and new plywood goes up.
So, so sad that they go into ruins. This was about 4 blocks from where I grew up. What a beautiful building the rectory is also.
“What was wrong with St. Louisans to allow this to happen?”
I’d LOVE to hear your friend’s thoughts on a solution. Perhaps he or she is will to act as a sentry outside the buildings to prevent the vandalism?
