Moving further to the west, we came across this unique three-sided obelisk contains the portraits of the three Bagnell brothers, two of whom died at relatively young ages. They built railroads, apparently.
The Niedringhaus has many different branches, but the most famous one founded Granite City.
We found this stone interesting, as it has different plaques on it for different generations of family members.
And before we knew it, we had wandered back to the Lemp Mausoleum.
I assume you have seen the Paramore mausoleum, with the gate ornamented with a variant dorm of a chi rho that strongly resembles a dollar sign. The first time I saw that I burst out laughing and said “Look! They took it with them!”
