On the western end of Carondelet Park the large lake has a rustic stone bridge separating it into two parts, and fishing is allowed.
The public restrooms have been closed for decades.
The benches have various inscriptions from donors.
This says “Our love remains” in Latin.
Chris Naffziger;
A friend of mine from CBC came across your Carondelet Park Photo’s on STL Architecture website recently.
Who would have thought.
Donna & I lived in the Holly Hills area for 38 years. We were engaged on the bridge over Horseshoe lake. In 2013 I had the Parks Dept. place a tribute bench by the bridge marking our 45 engagement anniversary at the bridge.
Very Cool. Tim Hobart
Wow, how cool, Tim. You put a smile on my face when I saw your bench.
I am interested in purchasing a bench near the lake in memory of my husband
Here are some links for Forest Park, Tower Grove Park and the Botanical Garden; I was not able to find the direct link for St. Louis Parks in general.

Here is the link to the St. Louis Parks Department; I’m sure you could give them a call to inquire about purchasing a memorial bench in a city park:
