I’ve long been intrigued by the dense collection of houses built just after the Civil War to the northeast of the intersection of Gravois and Jefferson. What fire insurance maps and Compton and Dry show as some sort of large mansion of institutional building was demolished sometime in the past, and now is receiving in-fill known as Charless Village
Chris, I believe that is the area where the old Charless school was located., at the 2200 block of Shenandoah near Gravous and Jefferson. It was a 3 or 4 story building with a cupola or bell tower. Not sure when it was torn down
