Otto Stifel shot himself after his Union Brewery at Compton and Gravois went out of business. It was later mostly demolished after serving as Falstaff Plant No. 2.

This is a unique monument, located on the northern edge of the cemetery, in what is obviously stout granite. It is still almost in perfect shape.
