
We’ve looked at the blocks of Osage Street to the west of here before, here and here, back in March of 2020, so let’s continue where we left off at Minnesota and head east.

These houses are typical of Dutchtown, looking like they were built around the main period of development, from 1890 to 1910.

Really, in many ways the houses are identical to each other whether they are one or two stories; they have the same cornices or parapets but the builders just chose to insert a second floor or not. Aesthetically, I think the one story houses work better proportionally.

Then there is the switch from red brick facades to other colors such as dark brown as you can see below.

Then we make it to Pennsylvania Avenue.
