With the sad demise of the Stuckey’s in Goodfield I had been photographing for several years, I was pleased to discover a run-down member of the chain off of I-55 south of Springfield.

Update: Demolished on March 9, 2011. I made it out to my favorite abandoned diner outside Goodfield, Illinois, and I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the original signpost is still extant. How I never noticed it before is beyond me.

Update: Demolished on March 9, 2011. I revisited the old diner at the intersection of I-74 and the road that heads north to Eureka, Illinois. At sunset, the setting is a dramatic scene, indeed.
