St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church caught my eye on the western end of Broadway Street. It dates back to 1848, though this is obviously not the original church.

This church dates from 1899 and has the influence of the Baroque with its use of pedimented windows and unique bell towers.

A half lunette lintel over the front door anchors the composition. In many ways, the whole front facade reminds me of Santa Trinità dei Monti, which is the famous church that everyone knows at the summit of the Spanish Steps on the Pincian Hill in Rome.

The interior is simple and beautiful, with the arches springing directly from the capitals of the columns. The Transfiguration of Christ is painted in the vault of the apse.
