Early Vernacular House, Marine Villa

This house, on Marine Avenue, is one of the oldest houses in the neighborhood, and was probably originally a duplex, judging from its appearance on Compton and Dry from 1875.

It faces the river, down a steep hill, and would have been close to the old Mariners’ Hospital (you can see the house just to the north of the hospital in the Compton and Dry image).

Just wanted to let you know, my husband and I acquired this house from the LRA in September 2018 and are rehabbing it. 🙂 We expect to complete it October 2019.
