After the Tornado: DeBaliviere Place

Following the path of the tornado east/northeast, we reach the DeBaliviere Place neighborhood, bounded by Forest Park on the south, DeBaliviere Avenue on the west, Delmar Boulevard on the north and Union Boulevard on the east (where we’ve already seen damage).

Damage from the tornado is similar to that in Skinker-DeBalivere, with a large numbers of windows smashed by flying debris, but also from what I’ve been told, some have been blown out by high winds.

There is still just a large amount of debris lying around; it is not due to a lack of effort, but this is a historic, leviathan amount of wood, brick and other refuse that will take a long time to clean up.

And so many trees are gone now; I suspect that many more will perish in the next year or so due to the loss of limbs.

I also snapped so photos across Union Boulevard into the Central West End, there is a lot of destruction over there.

Just look at the damage to that beautiful house.
