George W. Baumhoff was the general manager of the St. Louis Transit Company. According to the Missouri History Museum, he owned an estate of several hundred acres out by Valley Park, called “Treecourt,” which I can verify is sort of a translation of his last name in German. I suspect the modern-day industrial park of the same name is located in at least a portion of the old estate.
