Update: See Sister Marie Charles Park down below this park in 2020.
The view from Bellerive Park, which I visited back in 2009, continues to provide one of the most enjoyable and easily accessible location to view the Mississippi River.
It looks like there is a sunken barge in the middle of the river on that sandbar.
I still like the pavilion that serves the park.
Perhaps most beneficially, the park prevents industry from spreading any further north; below, you can see the factories and warehouses that line the east side of Broadway in Carondelet.
I still like the elegant bridge that takes Bellerive Boulevard over Broadway. It is an interesting relic of a much larger, and unrealized, plan.
The sun sets early now, but it still provides for some great light.
