Benton Park West, Revisited Again

Update: I went back and looked at this block again the summer of 2020.

Apartment living to many St. Louisans is not glamorous, but for most of this city’s history, the wealthy and well-to-do lived in exquisite apartment buildings, such as these two, mixed in with other houses. I got back to photograph these two beauties, as the last time was when my old camera was not functioning properly. Clearly built at the same time, with one having lost its porch roof.

Then, moving down Wyoming Avenue, these stunners are actually two-family houses! I always say, people tried to hide it.

Sadly, because Benton Park West could be such a great neighborhood, abandonment is creeping in.

Look at these little guys: four rowhouses that are only one story tall. That is extremely rare.

The 2nd one from the bottom looks like a school

Check out the 2900 & 3000 blocks of Texas. Quite a few rehabs ongoing on those blocks, which makes me happy.

      Thanks, I will do that!
