The Civil Courts Building is one of my favorite buildings in downtown St. Louis, but it is so often viewed from straight down the Gateway Mall. I like seeing it from among the buildings of downtown.

Familiar with the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus ?
Yes, wrote a paper on it back in Junior High–the Civil Courts is derived from its design.
There are so many tries at the Mausoleum design around the country, built — I think — at more or less the same time. I’ve wondered about that. I can’t say that I’m terribly fond of ours, though I do like it better than the LA City Hall, for example.
