Update: See the street again in the late summer of 2019.
Moving north, the street grid changes, and there are a series of north-south streets that break up the dominance of the east west streets, as well as some north-south streets that continue up from the south.
There are also more “one-off” houses that are unique and without any partners in the neighborhood. There are also more wood frame houses, such as this one that looks like it was hit with an RPG.
Then there is this simple but elegant house with a hipped roof.
The buff brick house on the right is easily one of my favorite houses in the city, and I know many others who can count it as one of the most unique. I photographed it back in May of 2010 (fourth photo) in one of my first trips to the neighborhood.
