Eberwein Park

Time for more barns! Eberwein Park is the former farm of the eponymous family, who sold hay harvested from its fields into the Twenty-First Century. It is now a public park owned by the City of Chesterfield off Old Baxter Road, preserving the original barn from the early Twentieth Century. Garden plots are available as well as prairie and a dog park.

Very interesting. It can’t be in the Bon Hommes’s bottom. How old is ANNIE GUNN’s smokehouse?

Yes, this farm is up in the hills southeast of Gumbo Flats. Annie Gunns/the Smokehouse traces its founding to 1937.

I’ve been to this park! The old Queen Anne farmhouse was torn down in the last few years when the land became a park, due to not being able to meet fire code if it was going to be used as a public building. The old Eberwein house across the street, a two story log cabin covered in clapboards, is happily still around
