That late 2018 photographed Malcolm X mural is very fitting for a metropolitan area whose regional political economy bread and butter was way over reliant on war economy militarism, runaway hospital complexes (Heathcare Administors before patients when it comes to Saint Luke’s “non Delmar Divine” West County location) and disposable shopping mall developments that all go beyond the more “surface level” racial quota aspects of some decades long gone Jim Crow system of citizen discrimination

Like the more I read through your posts and look through your online posted photographs (Washington Park Cemetery, a 2012 “local peace time” historic artifact bulldozed Rock Hill Presbyterian Church, and some Kinloch, Missouri illegal landfill dumping ground not far from the homes of some 1917 East Saint Louis Race War refugee descendants, et cetera) The more I start to pity the Miami Beach, Suburban Baltimore like “diverse faces” of Saint Louis County’s continuous real estate sprawl towards figuratively nowhere that was always my geographic home, but not one with allot of positive later childhood memories for a learning disability born Chesterfield/Ballwin kid, (I was literally a Kindergartner when some far away Yeatman residing Edward D. Johns was sadistically murder with multiple gun shots in 2002)

It’s a pity that those more “long term” taxpayer money spending priorities West County located Public Schools Districts are sadly more frightened of those invisibly disabled (autism, ADD, Down Syndrome) late elementary school level aged boys born with blond hair bodies that would punch a teacher out when they find out she/he’s a fraud than those Tyrone City Failures that thankfully aren’t bused to your precious outer county school district, but even if there wasn’t any “independently willed blacks” or trailer park Hoosiers in your neck of the woods, that doesn’t mean that your job will allot more convenient when all your students are all of more “money presentable” backgrounds

I was out here yesterday trying to make sense of the front mural and my husband jokingly said it was Dog the Bounty Hunter out front and now he feels vindicated he guessed right. Amazing.

The murals are still there? Good to hear.
