In keeping with the love of the Romanesque Revival flourishing in the late Nineteenth Century, the massive church from 1884 on Grandel Square delivers on that devotion.
Massive, finely cut cut limestone and slate, mixed with patinated copper and stained glass.
Any idea what is to come of this now that the Black Rep has been kicked out?
I would like permission to use you photograph of the Grandel Theatre in a book I am writing about the Warrensburg, MO sandstone industry. My research indicated the Third Presbyterian Church became the First Trinitarian Church and then the First Congregational Church and finally the Grandel Theatre. The Third Presbyterian Church was listed among the structures built of Warrensburg sandstone from the Pickel or St. Louis Quarry located about 1 mile north of Warrensburg.
