Fyler Avenue, Lindenwood Park

Fyler Avenue is sort of a main drag that cuts through several neighborhoods west of Kingshighway.

The housing styles are all over the place, reflecting the fact that this area was very rural for much of St. Louis’s history.

Note above: there is a very old house sitting far back in the lot above.

Tract homes come in the early to mid Twentieth Century as the city begins to fill out the last remaining buildable land.

Lots of those Cape Cods and those curious Dutch gable roofs, like you see above.
