I made a detour by Greenwood Cemetery, which is the last resting place of Harriett Scott among many other famous African Americans, and I was excited to see that volunteers working under the direction of the non-profit that now manages the historic burial ground have made amazing progress.
Update: There are in fact still some trees that need to be removed.
As far as I could tell, all volunteer trees have now been removed, and the cemetery is far along its way to complete rebirth. It’s such a great example of people getting together to fix a problem and the results are magnificent.
