Update: This was the Barnard Free Skin and Cancer Hospital, which replaced the location further east at Locust and Jefferson.
Now what appears to be a half-way house, this building intrigued me when I saw it (and parked in front of it). What was its original use? It looks like it was a school originally.
Built in 1910 and Jim’s Home (local Catholic charity) has been in there since the 1950s, which as you mentioned, is a halfway home of sorts…men only if memory serves.
I remember reading somewhere that it was originally a hospital of some sort.
