Now Louisiana passes by the west side of the St. Cecilia’s campus, and I have to wonder if the reason there is this elegant house is in some way originally related to that church. Certainly it was built here to be close by.

The more humble houses are no less elegant going north on the street.

The density is not lower than before but just averages out because there are more four-family apartment buildings…

…and single family houses like the ones below.

Then there are three of these four-families in a row.

These are big apartments in these buildings.

There is even a window on a third floor attic.

Enjoying seeing these pics of St Louis. Although born in St Louis, I spent most of my life untyil 1997 in Illinois across from St Louis. Rermember seeing the arch built and sitting in back yard where I could see the arch on good days. The LAst residencd My famil lived in in St Louis was at corner of Virginia And Keokuk a 4 family Flat 3 rooms Kitchen Dining, Bedroom w smal bath and living room. We moved to a slightly larger 3 room house in Cahokia, IL summer of 1954. Alwasy wonder what became of the old flats in that area.
I didn’t realize you grew up down that way!
