It has been over a decade since I last visited the Mullanphy Tenement back in September of 2013 (I first visited back in the winter of 2009), and I was wondering what was happening with the historic building.

The answer? Absolutely nothing! The famous “Buy/Sell/Trade” sign has disappeared, but other than that, it looks largely the same.

A title search reveals that the current owner who lives in Carondelet, has owned it since 1986; before that it was passed around by various individuals every couple of years into the 1970s. The owner, a lawyer, has been in court a lot in his life, and not for his clients, if you know what I mean.

Seems kind of pointless to just sit on a vacant property for almost forty years, if you ask me, but what do I know?

Around on the back side, there’s a new cellphone tower, which I know from personal experience, will not be moving for another seventy years or so.
