I looked at this block of Nebraska Avenue back in March of 2020, and it’s interesting to see how things have changed.

The four-family above has been renovated to some extent, and the building below, which was a burned out shell, has now been rehabbed and should be inhabited sometime soon.

The building below looks much the same, with green boards on the inside doors of the four. I do not know what is going on.

Much of the block looks the same, however.

The metal awning is gone, below.

The four family built in front of the earlier house has a nicer front yard.

Interesting. Do you know if the earlier house in the last photo is actually attached / part of the four family in front of it?
It is in fact attached; the front wall is built right into the back wall of the four-family at the front of the lot. If I had the time I would research the history of that back house!
I can confirm that the older house was incorporated into the larger structure. The original house was built in the 1870’s, then was rebuilt into a five unit house (2 upstairs, 2 on the main floor, and one in the basement) in time to make the 1903 Fire Map.
