North Up Blair Avenue, South of Penrose Street, Hyde Park, March 2024

Heading north up Blair into Hyde Park, we pass by those streets with little bungalows built in the early Twentieth Century. I know there are many more that are abandoned now than when I first came up this way in 2008.

The house below hasn’t changed for the better since I photographed it in January of 2018.

I’m happy for the new in-fill, though.

This is near Destrehan Street.

Reaching Salisbury Street, it was quiet at the early morning hour I photographed the area, but it becomes busy during rush hour.

I’m still always amazed when I see the building below renovated, after we all saw it abandoned for so many years.

The same with this building below.

There’s been a lot of demolition around the 3900 block of Blair, as well. The pink building in this post of the intersection of North Park Place, is gone. The duplex below is still vacant.

There’s been some major demolition, because it didn’t use to be so easy to see the former Friedens Church off in the distance from Blair.

We soon reach Penrose Street.
