Northern Fox Park

The quiet blocks of Fox Park, just north of Russell Blvd and south of I-44, feature a bevy of beautiful houses from as early as the 1870s to the early Twentieth Century.

Below, houses I might expect to see in Baltimore line the street.

Older Italianate and Second Empire houses also point to the neighborhood’s close proximity to Lafayette Square.

What did the interstate destroy? I am sure it destroyed a lot of wonderful houses, and permanently severed the South Side.

Construction of I-44 through the city seems redundant with highway 40. Probably the highway that caused the most destruction and most useless section of highway in the St Louis area. Perhaps one day it will be removed, but I doubt it.
