Update: This was a cold storage warehouse, part of the St. Louis Refrigerated and Cold Storage Company. The site has been leveled with fill by September 2015, but probably much earlier. The warehouse in the background was completely destroyed by fire on February 3, 2024.

I love these old foundations with their massive stone arches laid bare, across from the Union Electric power plant on the north riverfront.
