Page Boulevard Between Hamilton Avenue and Laurel Street

I’ve been fascinated by Page Boulevard being almost completely residential along its whole stretch inside city limits (it becomes heavily commercial–particularly past I-170–outside the city limits).

But what is interesting, unlike in small towns, where the mansions of the most prominent citizens line the major streets out to the city limits, Page Boulevard is lined with what are obvious tract homes and two-families. They are very beautiful and stout, but clearly built in tracts by 1909.

Of course, there is this interesting house in the middle, perhaps an early rural dwelling that probably housed a farmer or orchard owner. The developer built right around the home, as we make it to Laurel Street.

Love the old rural house in the middle! We had one of those (different style) in the Richmond Heights neighborhood where I grew up. Surrounding land was developed and a street didn’t go through as a result of the old rural house staying put. I think it was torn down in recent years, though.
