Page Boulevard Between Union Boulevard and Clarendon Avenue

Jumping ahead to the east a bit, we cross over Union Boulevard, looking to the north to a very nice but abandoned six family apartment building to the north.

Again, we see more tract houses and two-families built before 1909.

But I really love the house above with the big rounded Romanesque arch on the first floor and four smaller one on the second floor, which you can see again later in another identical home further to the east.

We see many houses that are similar to houses in South St. Louis.

These three houses repeat similar designs we saw to the west on this block.

I looked at the south side of Page in this area back in April of 2021.

These large brick houses would be and deserve to be deemed mansions if built today in any suburban area . I note those gray slate clad gables still holding after 100 + Yrs . The aluminum awnings are a practical shield and ipmregnable permanent addition from a prosperous time . The won’t rust nor decay and shield the openings .
