The church above is the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ; below is St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church.
Below, this is the First Baptist Church of Palmyra. I am intrigued by the architecture of this building, as it almost looks like a synagogue in its Orientalist influences.
This final church is St. Paul’s Episcopal Church of Palmyra; sadly it closed after 178 years in 2015. See more of the town from this trip starting here.
Palmyra is probably one of the best maintained small towns in NEMO, these churches alone attest to the great skill of the German immigrants that first settled this. I do hope that you caught a glimpse of some of the beautiful homes on the south end of Main St.
I think so; I saw most of the south part of the city.
