Crossing Juniata Street in Benton Park West, there is this small corner store that has looked like this as long as I can remember.

There are more of the standard houses that you’d be used to seeing in the neighborhood, including a Second Empire home, as seen above, though the dormer has been rebuilt.

I’m intrigued by the house below; I suspect it is one of the older houses on the block. If you look closely you can see that it has a large dormer on the gabled roof.

Other houses are much later in construction.

At the corner with Gravois Avenue, there is now a used car lot, but originally there was this very interesting corner store on the southwest corner with Pennsylvania Avenue. You can see Falstaff Plant No. 2 off in the distance.

On the southeast corner, there is Jefferson Tent and Awning, which was still in business until at least a couple of years ago.

We then reach Arsenal Street and Gravois Avenue, which is that complicated six cornered intersection. There were a couple of storefronts, perhaps a tavern or two at what were two major cross streets in the 1870s.

Hello I am looking for pics and information on what was known as the 4 corners. Wyoming & California. There was a bar in all 4 corners. I live at 2811 Wyoming. I have been on this block for 54 years. My house was built in 1893. I want info on who originally built this house and for who. I was told that my block of houses were all owned by brewery owners. Can you please provide more details for me.
Thank you.
