We returned to the zombie subdivision in Wildwood that was one of the victims of the housing crash back in 2008 (remember that–it seems a million years ago now).

It’s actually sort of interesting to see how the real estate market dealt with this problem. Off Crescent Road, individual homeowners have simply bought the adjacent lots, fenced them in and created giant yards next to their own houses, which has considerable precedent in St. Louis history.

But here, builders simply downsized the houses from massive to normal sized, leaving huge lawns that seem far too large for the residences in the middle of them. It’s a solution, though certainly the original developer would have liked to have seen larger profits. It was a solution, nonetheless.

This lake needs a bubbler or something, as it is very stagnant…
