Update: I revisited the house in the third photo in July of 2018.

At a newly renovated storefront on Jefferson at Winnebago, Sump Coffee is a perfect example of individuals in St. Louis not waiting for huge “silver bullet” developments but rather just getting out their saw and hammer and acting on a dream. Plus the coffee is amazing, and hand-brewed right in front of you.

While technically in the Marine Villa neighborhood, Sump sits right at an intersection with many historic buildings, and the side streets still retain their houses.

Update: I looked at the building above in the summer of 2018 (second picture).

I like this giant fan-shaped alley entrance.
