The house above at the northwest corner of Potomac and Tennessee has been painted white since at least 2007. Let’s continue north.

Reflecting the elevated terrain, the houses are higher up on this block, when grading brought the street down to a lower level.

Compton and Dry is sort of funny to look at for this area in 1875; it is nothing but empty fields and one house, which I think is gone.

More revenge of the Permastone.

Then we reach that awkward intersection with Gravois and Cherokee where you have to wait for the light to go.

Turning around at Cherokee Street and heading south, looking at the east side of the street.

There are thousands of hosues like these, but they work together so well.

They glow in the late hours of the winter day.

Enjoying these pictures. My family moved to Cahokia Il around 1954/55, from the Corner of Virginia and Keokuk. Livbed in a 4 family flat (3 rooms plus bathroom.) Ours part was downstairs on left nearest the corner. Large back yard. Thre was atacvern on the next corner up and once upon a time Ederlys Confectionary across the street. Much changed since we left Im sure. Havent been back there in over 40 years. remember the Bevo Mill And Ted Drews Frozen Custard.
