“Terra Cotta City”

Update: As of June 2023, the site is still active.

While living in Washington, DC for six years, I stumbled on a couple of cool sites that featured the vanishing Victorian Period architecture of the city. One of these, Victorian Secrets, interestingly featured a “field trip” to St. Louis and its rich terracotta history. The terracotta firm in question actually had its offices in the now vanished Century Building downtown. A very interesting read, and shows yet more reasons why St. Louis architecture is so valuable.
