I was walking along Broadway just south of Cerre Street, when I noticed this street sign attached to a light pole. After I perused the various maps from Nineteenth Century St. Louis, I could find no evidence that this street ever existed in this location, or that a street was here and later removed. Perhaps it was the name of a local buasiness; the light post looks to be no older than the 1960’s.
Looks like a bar named “Kelly’s Korner” was located here.

Aha! I figured it was the name of a former business there; great info!
This is right in front of the bar called “Hot Shots,” right? Or I should say, a bar located at 730 S. Broadway, right?
Since you could find no reference to a street EVER existing there (one might think from the obvious age of the sign that a street was removed when the RR overpass was installed back in ?) – perhaps it is one of those novelty signs that advertised a bar called “Kelly’s” that once occupied 730?
Way to go, Paul; you were posting as I was typing!
