I have not photographed the West End in a long time. It is such beautiful area, so close to prosperous areas south of Delmar, and I wonder why in this day and age, where the disastrous effects of redlining are so well documented, that government does nothing to solve this problem.
I agree, it is beautiful and adjacent to valuable property. However, the government is not the answer.
Maybe the government could facilitate some sort of “land rush” to make acquiring these homes desirable. I’ll say it again, where is the pioneer spirit? (I’m too old, and broke or I’d go!) But I have eyeballed the lovely two families in this area and thought perhaps Rankin students could hone their skills in rehabilitating them exchange for room and board…
