
Did you know the famous gates in University City are actually the doorway to a massive housing development? Or that originally the City Hall was the real estate office for it? It’s true, and it’s a fascinating story. While the University Heights story revolves around many different subdivisions on both the north and south of Delmar, we’ll be looking at No. 1, the pink subdivision on the plat map above.

We’ll enter through the Yale entrance, past this cool mid-century entrance sign. We’re greeted immediately with some really cool houses.

It’s a Tudor Revival wonderland!

The house below is perhaps one of the most memorable.

This house below is also a great example of just how eclectic the architecture is in the subdivision, which saw designs by many prominent architects.



This house below seems like a late and final variant of the Queen Anne, but more classical in its design.



I was not expecting such beautiful houses in this neighborhood, and it’s definitely worth taking a look.
