Update: I revisited the Cape Cod houses in the fall of 2021 (fifth photo down).

And then, amidst the devastation, there are neat rows of Cape Cod style houses, immaculately maintained. Owner-occupied, and just a couple decades younger than much of the neighborhood allowed these houses to survive.
