West Florissant Avenue Between Warne and Alice Avenues

I have a feeling that this stretch of West Florissant, where I presume a series of streetcar line once intersected, once hummed with life back fifty years ago. I have photographed the buildings below on several occasions, such as in December of 2016, and in February of 2017.

Further up the street, two buildings that I’ve photographed twice, seen here and also here, have been demolished on the east side of West Florissant, and are being replaced with a plaza.

There are signs that there was life in this strip up until a couple of decades ago, but now abandonment has accelerated, and there are only a couple of places to buy food in the area.

Further up the street, there are some nice houses, past Adelaide Avenue.
