This power plant is no longer standing; it was being demolished when I walked by in the afternoon. It was not the largest power plant in the world, but it sure seems huge when I was standing near it.
Back in 2008, before it was slated for demolition, it was the feature of a power plant magazine, and there was no sign of it being slated for removal.
I particularly liked how the huge metal superstructures looked like they had grown out of the roof of the original building, obviously not being original to the plant.
There were a couple of interesting light industrial buildings nearby; this is east of the highway that slashes its way in between the city and the Mississippi River.
