Arlington Avenue, Wells-Goodfellow

I’ve looked at Arlington Avenue in Wells-Goodfellow further to the north in these two posts from March of 2017 and July of 2023, but this time I started at Dr. Martin Luther King Dr. and went north.

There’s a wide variety of housing styles, from four-family flats…

…to in-fill that looks like it was damaged by a fire next door and has already been abandoned despite being built in the last couple of decades.

For the most part, this looks to be older development for the neighborhood, around the 1900 year mark. Much of the neighborhood was built to the northwest of here in the 1910s and 20s.

There are many houses that are in good shape.

But there are many abandoned buildings and vacant lots.

We reach New Salem Baptist Church at Cote Brilliante Avenue, which I looked at recently back in October of 2024.
