The Saint Louis Art Museum Sculpture Hall is influenced by the Baths of Caracalla, but it’s also inspired by the Basilica of Constantine and Maxentius, which is one of my favorite buildings in the Roman Forum. It is mostly collapsed from earthquakes, but still never fails to impress me when I see it.
Good evening Chris. My roommate and I were there two years ago. That bath house is an outstanding structure, the ceiling is comprised of poured concrete. It is amazing that the ancient romans had the engineering ability to pull that off. AND IT’S STILL STANDING!
Yeah, the Baths of Caracalla are amazing. The Baths of Diocletian are also worth seeing for their still extant vaulting.
