
It was a nice sunny day in the early winter so I took a look at some of the more interesting mausolea in Bellefontaine Cemetery.


















Given Campbell’s grave is interesting; it seems plain at first.

But when you go around back you see there’s an elaborate bronze plaque with his and his wife’s names inscribed on it.

Campbell was a Confederate cavalry officer who aided in President Jefferson Davis’s escape after the fall of Richmond in 1865.
