This duplex, severely damaged in a fire, is now being torn down for what appears to be a parking lot or maybe a gas station.
It seems like there are a lot of burned out houses in Carondelet, and no one seems to do anything with the charred shells in most cases.
The house was so heavily damaged that is was hard to tell if it was brick or even two stories, but the Sanborn maps show that this sad little house was neither.
It is now destined to oblivion.
I found the house on Google and Bing! I wonder if anyone will save the stone steps? I’d think they would be worth a few bucks.
I happened to by driving by while that house was on fire. Caught a few photos: http://www.flickr.com/photos/pasa/7444251562/in/set-72157625814016375/
Thanks, Paul. I didn’t realize how recent the fire was.
