St. Louis was not the only city in America to embrace the rural cemetery movement. Louisville has Cave Hill Cemetery. Two famous men are buried there, and colored lines lead visitors to their graves. A green line leads you to the grave of Muhammad Ali.
On the day I was there, beautiful flowers and inspirational quotes met me at the great boxer’s grave. I really enjoyed visiting this quiet grove.
Then I followed a yellow line to Col. Harland Sanders’s grave, who of course founded Kentucky Fried Chicken. He was not actually a colonel in the military.
I do not actually eat Kentucky Fried Chicken anymore, preferring Grace Meat + Three.
There is a nice bronze portrait bust of the fried chicken impresario, though.
