Chamberlain Avenue east of Hamilton Avenue, like many streets in the West End area, is lined with beautiful, large houses, some of which are abandoned, but many of which are not. I’ve looked at Chamberlain further east before, way back in August of 2009.
We turn south at Clara and then east at Maple, which I’ve looked at before, as well along with the portion of Chamberlain we just saw. There have been some demolitions.
The streets are blocked off in weird ways, a legacy of past attempts at crime reduction. The houses below are reached by driving around four to five blocks. Of course, those on foot, bike or horseback can reach them quickly.
