I found these two storefronts on the south side of Old North St. Louis; while there is a large amount of rehabbing occurring in the neighborhood, there are still some place slipping through the cracks.
Originally red brick, it was painted a battleship gray sometime in the past.
This truly is a sad statement to see these buildings falling down all around the city in neighborhoods that no longer are able to support life. These buildings represent the past and people have moved on leaving these decaying shells behind.
That is hard to look at. Especially when I think about how similar buildings are all over the south side, and doing relatively just fine.
